TBM Project
MII has been awarded the installation of a TLWP by FloaTEC. The scope includes the fabrication of eight (8) Tendon Buoyancy Modules (TBMs). The TBMs will be used to support tendons during the installation phase until they are locked onto the hull.
|
A TBM will be connected to each tendon after it is assembled on the DB50. The TBM will free flood through vent valves while the tendon is lowered and the tendon is locked into a pile. The vent valves will be closed and an air line will be connected to an inlet manifold to void each tank of the TBM. The voided TBM will provide the buoyancy necessary to keep the tendon upright without assistance from the DB50 crane.
